We spoke with IAE graduate Kassande Terrio about her experience as an esthetician since graduating from International Academy of Esthetics 8 years ago! Kassande has been working successfully as an esthetician since her graduation and has worked alongside many esthetics graduates during that time. She is passionate about the beauty industry and especially loves facials and waxing. You can find Kassande at Namaste Day Spa in Sherwood Park where she's been working since her graduation from IAE.
IAE: Hi Kassande! Thanks for doing this interview with us! I wanted to first ask you how you choose a school for esthetics education?
Kassande: No problem! What really stood out about IAE and what made me choose it was a smaller institute, which is exactly what I was looking for. Being a smaller school, meant smaller classrooms and more one on one training. It made it a more personal and comfortable environment.
IAE: Awesome! Even though you've been graduated for a while, being able to provide our students with ample one on one attention is still a priority for us! So, what inspired you go into the beauty industry?
Kassande: Well, I've always wanted to become an Esthetician. The beauty industry always stood out to me. It's all about promoting health, confidence, and happiness. There's nothing more rewarding than making others feel better on every level.
IAE: Absolutely! And how long have you been doing esthetics for? When did you graduate?
Kassande: I have graduated in 2009 so I've been an Esthetician for 8 years.
IAE: Do you have a favourite esthetic service?
Kassande: I honestly love doing all services but my top two favorite things are facials and eyebrow waxing. Both dramatically change the clients face in just one session and I love how happy people are when I'm done. It's a great feeling when your client walks out of the room feeling great about themselves!
IAE: Tell our readers what it is like to be an esthetician?
Kassande: Being an Esthetician is incredibly rewarding. Of course, not every day is perfect, there are always going to be ups and downs but that's true in any career. I love that I get to meet so many different people, and hear so many different stories. There is never a dull moment. Once you build that clientele your clients literally become your second family. you get to know people on a completely different level. sometimes you are a friend, a shoulder to cry on, or a therapist.
The results and difference you can make in someone’s life not only on the outside but on the inside is amazing and so fulfilling! Another great thing is that you are always doing something different, there is such a variety in esthetics and there is always something new to learn or a different path you can take in the industry.
